Delray 02:28
I recall the first time I saw ya Stocking feet in the hall I hoped that you’d remember, too But if you don’t I’d be glad to remind you And if I come on too strong Forgive me; it’s just been too long Since anybody cared To take my call just to talk about nothing But there was something about the sand and the water And your number in my hand I made the call and your surprise just made it that much sweeter I understand your reservations ‘Cus I’m a walking complication My heart has broken free But it’s left behind the rest of me And now I’m starving for information The source of your disinclination With each unanswered call Why am I more, not less in your thrall? Ah, but that day on the beach When hope crept in and what was lost seemed within reach It could not last and when we disengaged The moment had passed

Mick said that time was on my side So I waited and wondered If I could ever be satisfied Without you, I wondered Don’t want to smother you Uncover you Discover you quite yet Just want to get next to you Confess to you You’re all that’s on my mind Right now just a little bit will do Something to hold onto I’ll take my time and grow on you I don’t need to know that it might end Before it all begins Just give a little bit Little bit of you I close my eyes, I visualize That we’ll be together Although I know that it’s unwise Predicting the weather Don’t want to cramp your style Or crowd you while You’re making up your mind Just want to take it slow Watch it grow And see what we might find Right now just a little bit will do Something to hold onto I’ll take my time and see it through I don’t need to know that it might end Before it all begins Just give a little bit Little bit of you

Veteran producer/songwriter/guitarist Jay Sherman-Godfrey released his solo debut EP "Twoscore" in 2006. He produced and played on two acclaimed CDs for Laura Cantrell and has recorded and performed with They Might Be Giants, Tandy, Amy Rigby, Michael Shelley, Eric “Roscoe” Ambel, and Mojo Nixon, among many others. In the early 1980s, he co-founded the seminal NYC country-rock band World Famous Blue Jays, and with the band’s leader, Jeremy Tepper, helped establish and run Diesel Only Records. He returns to Diesel Only’s 7” single heritage with this new series of virtual 45s, each with custom label and sleeve artwork.

Since 1996, Able Mobile Recording Lab has been Sherman-Godfrey’s ad hoc studio, capturing human, wood, wire and tube powered performances in lofts, bedrooms, kitchens, gymnasiums, barns -- anywhere with a plug, like-minded musicians, and favorable ambiance. In 2008, Able Mobile found a semi-permanent home in Greenpoint Brooklyn, sharing space with Joe McGinty’s Carousel Vintage Keyboard Studio.
